Keep useful takeoff when the bid changes
A changed treatment doesn't have to mean tracing the same footprint again. Move an existing area or line to another measurement group and its attached material quantities recalculate from the new settings. Split an area without cutouts when only part of the treatment changes. Keep Base Bid, Alternate 1, and Alternate 2 quantities separate as you work through the options.
You can review those material totals inside Zip Takeoff. Export to Excel when you need a file for a handoff or another estimating system, with the quantity calculations already done.
Start with the plans you already use
Open Zip Takeoff in a browser on Mac or Windows. Upload a PDF and review detected sheet names and scales. Follow recognized sheet references or search across the set to find details. Smart Area and Smart Linear help with suitable vector drawings; manual tools handle scanned sheets. If you don't have plans yet, free satellite takeoff gives you a way to start preliminary measurements from an address.
Try a familiar sheet, attach a few of your own bid items, and follow a guided tutorial. You can see how the measurements become useful quantities before making a paid commitment. Reviewers can follow the project with free viewer access; editing and comments need estimator seats.
